Dear 2012 Self,
I hope you read this letter often, because I am writing it today in hopes of a better tomorrow.
I want to remind you that going back to school will prove to be the best decision of your life. You might feel to old to be sitting in class, but remember that you are never to old to learn. It has taken you a long time to get here, but it will be worth it.
You found love in an unexpected place, at an unexpected time. Cherish it. Cherish him. Don’t let your insecurities about age differences get in your way of happiness. Alex is one in a million, you know that! He loves you and cares for you like no guy has before. He also supports you and your dreams, no matter how crazy. Stop being so intense. Enjoy the blessing you have been given and let him love you.
Focus on loving your body this year. Your health is important. Exercise is important. I really hope you are getting more (regular) exercise. Also, please stop eating so much crap! You are killing yourself. A treat is fine, but stop going over board. When things got rough you lost sight of your health and fitness. You can’t do that anymore. It’s a constant battle and you can’t give up. Just keep fighting. Go for a walk if you have to!
You finally learned the benefits of getting organized. Google calendar has been a saving grace. Keep using it! Now, if you can only figure out how to keep a budget. Saving is good, spending is bad. Things, objects and materials are not important. If you want the life you have dreamed of, you need to save for it! Trust me, saving will come in handy!
I hope you will renew your faith in the church this year. It was such a big part of your life for a long, long time. Go back to church, get involved again, and spend some more time in prayer. It can’t hurt.
I wish that you will have more quality time this year. Embrace all the precious moments of life. Spend more time with your family. Enjoy more laughs with your friends. Cherish the quite moments with Alex. Heck, spend more time alone! Light some candles and read a book. Take more naps. And spend as much time as you can with Chloe. Your puppy isn’t a puppy anymore, and her time is going to be limited soon.
Don’t forget about the New Years resolutions you made. You put a lot of thought into those, don’t let them become an after thought like in years past!
Written with lots of Love,
Your 2011 Self
