Not All Rainbows and Lollipops

I like living in my bubble type world where life is filled with rainbows and lollipops. I try to live a very positive, happy and outgoing life — regardless of negatives around me. I love when my days are happy and fun. It keeps me in a great mood and usually improves the day of those around me. For the time being, my life is not filled with rainbows and lollipops.

You may (or may not) have noticed that I have been very absent from all things social media this past week or so. There has been a reason for that.

My mom and I have always had a very rocky relationship. There have been really great moments, but mostly we are like oil and water – we just don’t mix. Earlier this week the rainbows went away and the lollipops (or shit) hit the fan. The situation here is rather intense, and I could quickly turn this blog into a “he said, she said” rant – but I won’t.

This week has shined a light on my life growing up and on my life that is still to come. My relationship with my mom has never been rainbows and lollipops. It’s been an emotional fight with one battle after another. We have been on opposite ends throughout my entire life. I see the mother daughter relationships in the people around me and I am envious. We are both to blame, but that doesn’t make it easier.

Acknowledging that we don’t have a good relationship makes me emotional.

Today, I just want to tell you that I am here. I have read emails, checked up on twitter and read blogs – but I haven’t responded to any. I have three other blogs that remain unpublished because I can’t seem to finish them. The words that I have for those blogs get over shadowed by the situation on the home front. That’s not fair.

I’ll be back soon! In the meantime, I hope your lives are filled with rainbows & lollipops. 🙂

I can relate to a shitty home situation. My life with my parents was horrid! If you ever need a shoulder, I know both our schedules have been crazy, but call me anyway. If I am on the road or whatever we can chat. I love you girl, please know I am thinking about you!

Sabrina, I too share a rocky relationship with my Mom. I wonder sometimes what effect is has on my eating throughout the years? I try really hard not to expect too much and be grateful for what does happen. I hope things get better for you.
