Success and Blog Hop

Happy Hump Day!
Yesterday I threw a little bit of a tantrum. Not necessarily in my post, but around my house where no one could see. I knew I had to get over it and find a way to deal with my eating issues. I am the only one who can do this for me.
So I looked myself in the mirror and made a plan for the rest of the day.

Writing yesterday’s post kept me busy pretty much all morning, but then it was almost time for lunch.

430 calories of goodness!

I had to go get some errands done and one stop included the grocery store. Something about going grocery shopping always makes me HUNGRY! My errands took me across town to where a newly remodeled grocery store is. I have not been there since the remodel, so I decided now would be a good time to check it out!

Their bakery section was to die for! I wanted to bring home one of everything. But I quickly left that danger zone and went ahead with my shopping list.

I REALLY wanted some fresh baked cookies from the bakery, but I knew buying a box of 12 would NOT have been a good idea. I also knew I wanted a mid-afternoon snack so I set out to find a better choice than a box of cookies. On my way to the check out line I found these guys…

Life savers!!

Last night we had some rocking storms move through Florida, so I hunkered down with my dinner and a night good for TV watching!

Photographing my food is new to me, so I did not capture my dinner. But it was a burger on a sandwich thin with some cheese and onions. Along with a side of peas! Yum Yum!

My journal entries from yesterday were very positive. Once I pulled myself together I did not struggle with food. It was a victory.

However, I do realize that it is MUCH easier to control my eating when I am alone rather than out with a group. Today I have plans for lunch out with a friend at an undecided location. I am learning how to control my eating at home, but I must also master the art of eating out.

Today is off to a great start! With Chocolate deliciousness!

240 calories of sweetness!

One change at a time. One success at a time. Victory will be mine!

QUESTION: What success or victory have you had recently?

I feel like it is easier to control my eating when I am alone too. With my husband, I always want to go out to eat or binge on all these bad foods…. so frustrating!

I can control my eating only when I plan out my dad meal by meal. I need to know exactly what the calorie count is in each item. Once I eat something that I can't find the calorie count for, I'm done…it's all downhill from there!

    Great job!

Thank you for linking up Sabrina. I swam a lot yesterday with my kids and resisted a lot of junk food – it was Australia Day and it tends to mean an array of chips and nuts on every picnic table!

I have the same problem. I do so good when I'm at home and in control, but if I go somewhere it seems to through my diet off balance. It's something I need to work on.

Planning is such a lifesaver for me. Sometimes I go as far as making a list of what I will be getting and the points that it is worth. It kind of strengthens my commitment in my mind. 🙂

It's so hard to eat out with friends, especially if they're the kind of people to “encourage” you to indulge “just this once”. I've realised I'm bad about dieting, I “treat” myself a little too often. Good for you for avoiding the baked goods!
